‘Hales Hall in Loddon’ brings life to medieval bricks and mortar.

Terry and Judy Read rescued Hales Hall in Loddon from dereliction, with in-depth research and restoration over some 40 years. They raised their family in this stunning estate and turned the great barn into a thriving wedding and events venue.

Thanks to their painstaking restoration, this magnificent medieval hall is now the height of modern luxury. It has become a hugely popular wedding venue (one of the Evening Standard’s 50 best wedding venues in the UK),

Now you can follow their restoration journey in this beautiful sewn-bound book which includes detailed plans, architectural drawings and photographs by the authors – suggested and edited by historian Ian Dunn FSA.

The book also gives an insight into the history of the once great house of the Hobarts, situated on the edge of the Broads National Park and dating back to the 1400s.

“Thanks for doing a great job on the Hales Hall book – the authors are delighted with it.”

Terry and Judy retired to a local farm house to write their story, the subsequent owners have turned their former home into accommodation for the wedding venue.
